“Water” You Watching

After 20-plus years in the event and marketing industry, I started a new job at Newport News Waterworks in late 2019. A few months into my new career, I found myself working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many of you, I started binge watching Netflix, and I just happened across some great water-related shows that I want to share with you.

The first show you NEED to watch is Brave Blue World. I know. I know. A documentary about water sounds super thrilling – why would anyone want to watch that? Well, let’s start with the fact that it’s narrated by Liam Neeson and features both Matt Damon and Jaden Smith. That alone should be enough to make you want to tune in. It’s a positive and uplifting vision of a day when everyone has access to clean water and sanitation, which could possibly happen in our lifetime.

Once you’ve finished listening to Neeson’s sweet voice for 40 minutes, it’s time for a trip to France with Zac Efron and co-producer Darin Olien. Down to Earth with Zac Efran takes you on a city tour of Paris to learn about their tap water system. To prepare, they visit a water sommelier in Los Angeles. And of course, they just happen to bring their pal Anna Kendrick with them. Tap water has never been explored in such detail although our Water Quality Manager, Sherry Williams, may disagree with that last statement! Either away, you need to watch these shows. I’m sure you’ll be inspired, and just maybe, you’ll join me in my quest to help rid the world of plastic water bottles.

Happy binge-watching!
