Recycling Drives are held throughout the year, giving citizens the opportunity to bring special items that can't be discarded through regular curbside pickup. Accepted items include: DISPOSAL OF UNSERVICEABLE OLD U.S. FLAGS FOOD AND TOILETRY DONATIONS EYE GLASSES AND HEARING AIDS DOCUMENT SHREDDING HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE Suffolk ID required. The Suffolk Earth and Arts Festival is returning to downtown Suffolk on April 26, 2025, promising a day full of creativity, culture, and community. Organized by Keep Suffolk Beautiful and the Suffolk Art League, the festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along the 100 and 200 blocks of North Main Street. Attendees can enjoy live music, and browse the work of over 120 local artisans, growers, makers, musicians, and educational groups. Vendors interested in participating are encouraged to apply early. The Early Bird Special for vendor applications is open through January 12, 2025, with a 12ft x 12ft booth space available for $100. After January 12, the cost will increase to $150 per space. The cost of the workshop is $65. You will be provided with a 55-gallon, food-grade barrel and all the parts needed to convert it into a rain barrel. There will be a demonstration on how to assemble the barrel, followed by Master Gardeners assisting each registrant in completing the barrel assembly.
