VPPSA Household Chemical & Electronics Recycling

York County Operations Center 100 County Drive, Yorktown

VPPSA holds a total of 16 household chemical collection events per year and accepts a variety of paints, fuels, solvents, pesticides, automotive products and other chemicals from residents of Hampton, Poquoson, Williamsburg, James City County and York County. Suffolk Recycling Drive & Tire Amnesty Day

Suffolk Public Works Operation Center 800 Carolina Rd, Suffolk

This is a FREE tire amnesty and recycling event, but we would sincerely appreciate any non-perishable food and toiletry donations. At this upcoming event, participants can responsibly dispose of the following items: • Tires (must show ID) • New or gently used clothing and shoes • Electronics (TV’s 42 inches or less, No old tube TV’s) • CFL bulbs • Batteries • Plastic bottles and jugs • Eyeglasses and hearing aids • Plastic bags • Glass containers • Cardboard, paper & magazines •Tires, 22 inches or less – no rims. Tires from businesses not accepted. Please bring ID. •Household hazardous waste. This includes home cleaning products, automotive products, indoor pesticides, and paint. Liquid limit is 5 gallons. Must show ID •Document shredding on-site. Protect against identity theft and shred your personal document. If it becomes extremely busy, guests will be limited to three grocery bags worth of documents. •The Lions Club will be available to collect hearing aids, eyeglasses and sell brooms. •US Flags will be accepted to be respectfully decommissioned by local Boy Scouts.
