A 10 member delegation of staff and residents brought home the “Super Bowl” of civic awards Sunday night in Denver, Colorado at the National Civic League’s All-American City Competition.
This year’s competition highlighted innovative approaches to address veterans’ and military families’ access to jobs, housing, and health services or to recognize civic leadership by veterans or military families in strengthening communities. Norfolk’s 10 minute presentation focused on its veterans, flooding and civic initiatives. The presentation was followed by a round of questions from judges.
All-America City award was founded in 1949 and is America’s oldest and most prestigious community recognition award, now in its 62nd year.
