Hampton Roads utilities received national recognition as a winner in the American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) 2012 Drinking Water Week Video Contest. This contest encourages utilities and other groups from across North America to submit videos in two categories: celebratory videos that show how they celebrated Drinking Water Week OR educational videos that touched on an important aspect of tap water. Hampton Roads utilities received recognition as a winner in the celebration category.

Through the partnership of askHRgreen.org, Hampton Roads utilities came together to host “Take Back the Tap” events throughout the region. Armed with 4,000 reusable water bottles and a wealth of information on the benefits of choosing clean, safe tap water, members of askHRgreen.org traveled to seven different cities in seven days promoting stewardship of our most precious resource. In case you missed it, the winning video highlighting the week’s events can be seen below.

As a contest winner, askHRgreen.org will receive $500 worth of consumer and youth education products from the AWWA bookstore.
