Computer Recycling Events are held several times per year in conjunction with Household Chemical Collections. All collections are open to residents only of Hampton, James City County, Poquoson, Williamsburg, and York County; proof of residency may be required. Computer-related items accepted for recycling are limited to the following: Desktop and laptop computers Servers Monitors (both LCD and CRT types) Computer wiring Desktop printers including multifunction printers, or "all in ones" Fax machines Desktop photocopiers and scanners Cell phones Please note, we do not accept TV's

Chesapeake Recycles Day

Bring your old electronics, sensitive documents, and household hazardous waste to be recycled at any one of our Chesapeake Recycles Day events! What Can I Bring For Recycling? Goodwill, SPSA, Shred-It and TFC Recycling are partnering with us to collect a wide variety of items at each of our events. In general, accepted items will include: Electronics Clothing Household items Household hazardous waste Sensitive documents What is NOT accepted? We cannot accept tires or tube TVs (flat screens only).  We only accept personal items, no business items (items brought in a business labeled vehicle will not be accepted). For shredding, we cannot accept magazines, books, CDs, disks or any non-sensitive documents (junk mail, blank envelopes, etc). Please also note the following disposal limitations: Household Hazardous Waste: 5 gallons of liquid or 75 pounds of solid waste Shredding: 3 copy paper boxes or 3 paper grocery bags

Norfolk Recycles Day

Who: Open to the public (Proof of Norfolk residency needed only for electronics and household hazardous waste) What: America Recycles Day Where: Norfolk Waste Management Facility – 1176 Pineridge Road Date: November 18, 2017 Time: 9am-noon  What to bring: unwanted clothing and décor, electronics, general recyclables, documents for shredding, and household hazardous waste and more. Suffolk Junk Swap

Got junk? Don't throw it out! Bring it to the library and swap it for something else. Anything left over at the end of the Junk Swap will be donated to a local Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD) Thrift Store. Bring what you can. Take what you need. Tables will be provided by the library. Large items such as couches and refrigerators will not be allowed, and acceptable size will be at library staff discretion. Suggested items to bring include clothing, household items, toys, books, and anything else that you no longer have a need for.
