The Hampton Roads Great American Cleanup is one of the region’s largest volunteer efforts to improve our communities and protect the environment. Each year, thousands of residents, businesses, schools, military commands and community groups come together to remove litter, beautify public spaces and make a lasting impact across Hampton Roads.

Whether you join an organized event or lead your own cleanup, every effort helps create cleaner neighborhoods, healthier waterways and more vibrant public spaces.

A Regional Effort With Lasting Impact

Each year, volunteers across Hampton Roads come together to make a visible difference in the places we all share. Through the Great American Cleanup, community members help remove litter, improve public spaces and keep pollution from reaching local waterways.

Together, volunteers have collected more than 327 tons of litter and debris, showing how powerful local action can be when communities work together.
