Fryer Oil Recycling Locations

Large quantities of household FOG (fats, oils or grease) accumulated from cooking, frying, and general food preparation purposes can be recycled at the following locations. Most locations require a minimum of five gallons collected, but smaller quantities can be bagged and disposed of with the regular household waste.

Gloucester County Collections
Twice a year, Gloucester hosts a Household Harmful Waste Collection to rid homes of these hazardous materials. On the third Saturday in April, the Household Harmful Waste Collection is held at the Middle Peninsula Landfill & Recycling Center (Adner – Glenns; entrance on Route 17), located at 3714 Waste Management Way. In October, the collection is held on the third Saturday at the Hayes Convenience Center at 7599 Guinea Road.

Dates and times are advertised in local newspapers and The Beehive.

For more information call the Clean Community Office: (804) 693-5370.

Used cooking oil is accepted at the City of Newport News Public Works Department’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility, located at the Denbigh Compost and Dropoff Facility, 550 Atkinson Way, Newport News (approximately one mile north of Denbigh Blvd on Warwick Blvd).
