Virginia Beach Recycle Team Spreads Recycling Message

Virginia Beach Recycling

RC the Recycling Mascot and the Virginia Beach Recycling Team volunteers prepare to share their message in the TowneBank Holiday at the Beach Parade.

The Virginia Beach Recycling Team and RC, the recycling mascot, continue to spread their message to reduce, reuse, and recycle to Virginia Beach residents. Thousands of parade attendees enjoyed watching them in the Light Up the Town Parade at Town Center in November, and the TowneBank Holiday at the Beach Parade in December.

RC, donning his festive Santa hat, was seen dancing to holiday tunes with the Recycling Team and waving to the kids.  RC’s friends know to break down cardboard boxes, rinse out food containers, and love teaching others about proper recycling practices.  RC and other volunteers appear in parades, events and school educational opportunities because Virginia Beach, like its neighboring cities, value education.

If you live in Virginia Beach and would like to have an educational presentation provided to your civic association, faith-based organization or other community group, please call the Virginia Beach Waste Management office at 385-4650.

Virginia Beach is one member of the askHRgreen.org team.  Recycling in your city is fun and easy, too!  We’ve got everything you need to know to make 2014 a greener year by committing to reduce, reuse and recycle in the New Year.  Find our more information now on recycling at home, reducing paper use, or recycling plastic bags/film.
