I’m excited to announce that our Electronics Recycling Events were a huge success! The November 12th and 17th events, which were held in honor of America Recycles Day, had 440 vehicles drop off tens of thousands of pounds of electronics for proper recycling by Synergy Recycling and The Arc of the Virginia Peninsula. Folks also brought 6 tons of sensitive documents for secure shredding by Stealth Shredding – wow!

askHRgreen.org would like to thank the following people for their support of these events:

  • Katie Malone, Synergy Recycling
  • Whitney Lester, The Arc of the Virginia Peninsula
  • Leo Facenda, Stealth Shredding
  • The Home Depot staff in Newport News
  • Volunteers from James City County and staff from York County, Newport News and HRPDC
  • VB Clean Community Commission Chairman Larry Banks and members of Virginia Beach Clean Community Commission
  • Staff from Virginia Beach Public Works and Parks and Recreation
  • Staff from Keep Norfolk Beautiful
  • Event participants – you rock!
