Shoot to Win with the askHRgreen.org “Good to Do” Video Contest
Grand Prize Includes Airfare/Accommodations Package for Two
(Hampton Roads, Va., April 19, 2012) – Budding videographers have the chance to score a vacation package for two, good for airfare and accommodations, and other prizes when they submit their green-themed work in the “Good to Do” Video Contest, sponsored by askHRgreen.org. Contestants who are at least 18 years old are invited to create a video demonstrating best green practices and facts gleaned from the following askHRgreen.org website topics: Your Home, Your Yard and Your Community.
“How the video is created is completely up to the imagination of the contestant. It may be feature action or animation, sound or silent,” said Julia B. Hillegass, team leader for askHRgreen.org and public information and community affairs administrator with the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission. “We are seeking creative and fun submissions that effectively show how to be good green stewards at home, in the yard and in our communities.”
In addition to interpreting the selected website topics, contestants are required to include “Good to Know” facts and “Good to Do” tips found at askHRgreen.org, or they may showcase tips of their own. Videographers also must incorporate the askHRgreen.org logo into the video along with a sign-off that mentions askHRgreen.org.
Hillegass encourages videographers to start filming now. Videos will be posted online beginning June 1, with winners announced June 25. The “Good to Do” Video Contest offers video makers three ways to win:
- People’s Choice Award (one winner), presented to the contestant that receives the most online votes. The winner receives 4 passes to Busch Gardens Williamsburg and an askHRgreen.org prize pack.
- askHRgreen.org Category Winners (three winners), awarded to the best video in each of the three respective categories (Your Home, Your Yard, Your Community), based on a 100-point grading scale determined by a panel of judges. Winners receive one of the following prizes: 4 passes to the Virginia Zoo, 4 passes to the Virginia Aquarium, or 4 passes to the Virginia Living Museum. In addition, each winner receives an askHRgreen.org prize pack.
- Grand Prize (one winner), given to the best video overall, based on a 100-point grading scale determined by a panel of judges. The prize is a vacation package that includes airfare and accommodations for two to selected U.S. destinations for a three-day/two-night stay. At least one member of the party must be 21 years old, and the trip must be taken by Jan. 1, 2013.
“Good to Do” video contestants must reside in the 16-city/county Hampton Roads region, including the cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg, and the counties of Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, Southampton, Surry, and York.
