Norfolk Photographer finds Inspiration in the Lafayette River

Glen McClure, a Norfolk photographer, recently began shooting impressions of the Lafayette River. Shooting from his back porch, he captures impressions of the river and the beautiful reflections that are sometimes missed at first glance.

Glen resides on the Lafayette River and one morning while enjoying a cup of coffee, he noticed the reflections of the river. He leaped into action and began his latest journey, Lafayette River Impressions. He instantly became addicted to the river and when describing his work he says, “The Lafayette River is full of mood and drama. The beauty can be found in the textures, shapes and patterns that are reflected. I never noticed the beauty until I allowed my eyes to do the work”. This is a philosophy that his wife taught him and to this day, Glen allows his eyes to do the work.  Glen said that his favorite time to shoot is early morning at low tide when the sun rises over the river.  “As the sun rises you are able to see the different hues and the river reflections will change minute to minute”. Glen also stated that no two reflections will ever be the same. Just like Glen’s journey to photography, the Lafayette River Impressions chose him.
