Computer & Electronic Products Donation Programs

What do I do with my old computer and other electronic products?

Before you decide on recycling, you should consider whether your electronics function well enough to be donated. Computers and cell phones can be donated to not-for-profits and in exchange you’ll get a tax deduction! Here’s a list of nationally recognized and local electronics donation programs:

Goodwill & Dell Reconnect Partnership

Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads

Recycling and Reuse Network

• TechSoup Global

• National Cristina Foundation

Computer Recycling of Virginia

For additional information on e-Waste vendors and non-profits in Virginia, visit the Department of Environmental Quality’s comprehensive list of vendors.

If your electronic can’t be reused you can take it to a local residential e-cycling collection site/event or a manufacturer and retailer e-recycle program participant.
